Tufan Derince comes from Diyarbakir province in Turkey and is currently based in Rotterdam. He is one of the most in-demand Kurdish elektrobağlama players across Turkey and Europe, working with a large cohort of young musicians to constantly reimagine the sonic experience of Kurdish folk music.
In addition to hundreds of Kurdish weddings, he has performed at globalFEST and DubaiEXPO and has been featured on NPR’s Tiny Desk (Home) Concerts and will be appearing at SXSW in 2022.
